Dymo PKB - LabelWriter Drivers Fail To Install Windows
The drivers will not install for my LabelWriter. I continue to receive an error message after installing the software that the drivers were not installed. What do I need to do to install the drivers?
There are several possible solutions for this issue. If you could please use the solutions below to resolve the issues. If your issue continues please contact DYMO Technical Support.
Solution 1
Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 Troubleshoot Tool
OpenPrinters or Devices and Printers from the Start Menu.
Right click the LabelWriter and select Troubleshoot.
Follow the prompts to complete the troubleshooting process.
If successful the DYMO printer should add and appear as a printer If so openDYMO Label and print a label.
Solution 2
Update Drive from Device Manager
Close all open windows.
Go to Start then select Run and type in DevMgmt.msc
Locate your DYMO LabelWriter from the list of installed drivers. Typically it will be listed under 'Other devices' or 'Ports'.
Right click your LabelWriter and selectBrowsefor driver software on your computer.
From the Update Driver window, selectBrowse for driver software on your computer.
Select Browse and then browse to Computer > Local disc C > Program Files (x86 for 64-bit versions) > DYMO > DYMO Label > Drivers, then Next.
The drivers will install from the driver folder.

Solution 3
Deactivate User Account Control (UAC) and Log-on as an Administrator (Windows Vista - 8 only)
Close any open windows.
Open Control Panel.
Select User Accounts
Based on configuration, User Accounts can be accessed in several ways:
from Category View - select User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts
from Icon View - select User Accounts
Once in the User Account window, selectChange User Account Control settings.
Slide the Notify Mebar to 'Never Notify'. Select OK.
Restart your PC.
Logon to PC using the Administrator account.
Reinstall the latest version of DYMO Label software. Click here to be redirected to the Drivers and Downloads page.

Solution 4
Remove Drivers with LWSupport/LWRemove
Exit any open applications and run the LWRemove/LWSupport utility. For more information on using the LWRemove/LWSupport utility, click here.
Reinstall the latest version of DYMO Label software. Click here to be redirected to Drivers and Downloads page.

Solution 5
Print Management in Windows (Only offered on some versions of Windows vista- 8)
Exit any open windows.
Open Control Panel and browse to Administrative Tools > Print Management.
Double clickAll Printers folder to open the printer list.
Highlight all DYMO LabelWriter printers that are listed, right click and select Delete from the drop down menu.
Double clickAll Drivers folder to open the driver list.
Select all DYMO LabelWriter drivers, right click and select Delete.
Restart PC.
Reinstall latest version of DYMO Label software. Click here to be redirected to Drivers and Downloads page.

Solution 6
Enable/Disable the Print Spooler Service
Exit any open windows.
Open Services
Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services or
Right click Computer and select Manage
Double click the Print Spooler key and the Print Spooler Properties window will open.
First select the Stop button to stop the print spooler, then select the Start button to start the print spooler.
Select Apply.
Reinstall latest version of DYMO Label Software. Click here to be redirected to Drivers and Downloads page.

Solution 7
Remove DYMO Driver from Server Properties
Close all windows, in particular the DYMO Label program.
Remove all DYMO printers from Devices and Printers. Note: Make sure there are no print jobs in the queue before deleting the printers.
Go to Printer Server Properties.
In Devices and Printers, select any printer (non-DYMO printer as all DYMO printers should all be deleted) and then click on 'Printer Server Properties' insert image
In the Server Properties window, click on the Drivers tab.
Select the DYMO driver from the list and then click on remove (if errors occurred, please try stopping and starting the spooler, see Solution 6).
Remove all DYMO drivers from the list (one at a time) and then click OK.

If you continue to have issues with the device installing or appearing correctly, please ensure it is connected directly to your computer and not through hubs or auxiliary ports. Also you may try installing the device on another computer, or using another USB cord with the device. If needed contact technical support for further assistance.
